PERMITS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR THE 2008 / 2009 SEASON

BURNING PERMITS WILL BE ISSUED ONLY TO THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY WHERE THE BURN IS TO TAKE PLACE, OR TO A DULY DESIGNATED AGENT FOR THE OWNER.

Permits for residential burning of natural vegetation only may be purchased for $10.00 and are valid until the burning season ends in June. The fire may not be larger than 10 feet in diameter. Good from October through June.

Commercial Burn Permits require an on-site inspection BEFORE the permit can be issued.  The inspection is to assure that the required regulations have been met.  Permits for Commercial burning of natural vegetation only may be purchased for $150.00 and are valid for 30 days. The fire may not be larger than 50 feet in diameter. The permit holder must have the means of controlling and extinguishing a fire of this size.

You may APPLY for a Commercial Burn Permit on-line now and pay for it, OR  call 622-6321 and leave a message for Assistant Fire Marshal Perry Pruett who will call back and schedule a site inspection. The application will serve as a notice to AFM Pruett that you need a site visit and he will contact you. This site only accepts payment by credit card for your convenience.  Assistant Fire Marshal Pruett only inspects on Monday, Wednesday & Friday and can only accept checks, made out to "SJC Fire Marshal", thank you
