Buy A Residential Burn Permit

To purchase a burn permit, click on your island, or the island closest to your home. Permits are required for residential and commercial-size burn piles. Residential burns may be up to ten-feet in diameter. Permits cost $15 and are valid from October through June.

Commercial permits are needed for larger burns. Heavy equipment is required to be on scene. Commercial permits cost $225 and are valid for 30 days. Commercial permits are not available online because a site inspection is required prior to the issuance of a commercial burn permit.

After completing the burn permit, you will be sent to PayPal to purchase the permit. Don't forget to click "Return" to print your permit. You will also receive a copy by e-mail.

Open Burning Permits are valid from October 1st, through June 30th. Dates are subject to change by the Fire Marshal due to weather conditions. Except for recreational fires, no open burning is allowed from July through September.

Open Burning Rules

Recreational fires are currently allowed. The maximum fire size is two feet in diameter, centered in a six-foot diameter clear area. A permit is not required for a recreational fire.
